1. Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and GreenDriver ("we", "us"), the independent developer of the GreenDriver Mileage Tracker and Compass GD Android apps. Installing or using either app means you accept them.

2. What the apps are

GreenDriver Mileage Tracker is a mileage- and expense-recording tool for gig and delivery drivers. It logs trips, estimates real hourly earnings after vehicle costs, and organises records relevant to IRS vehicle-expense recordkeeping (see Publication 463).

Compass GD is a magnetic compass and bearing instrument.

3. Not tax, legal or financial advice

GreenDriver is a recordkeeping tool, not a tax preparer, accountant or attorney. The audit-readiness report checks your log against the recordkeeping elements described in IRS Publication 463. It does not verify that your entries are true, does not file or calculate your taxes, and does not represent you before the IRS or any other authority.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for how you use it on your tax return. Consult a qualified tax professional about your situation. Figures that depend on a tax year outside the published statutory tables are flagged in the app for checking rather than relied upon.

4. Accuracy of recorded data

Mileage is estimated from your phone's GPS and, where you provide them, your own odometer entries and an optional OBD-II adapter. GPS accuracy varies by device, signal and environment, and background tracking can be stopped by your phone's battery settings. Compass headings can be wrong near magnets, steel or a charging cable; the app warns when it detects this, but cannot detect every case.

We make no guarantee that recorded mileage, timing, headings or costs are error-free. Review your data, especially before relying on it for a tax filing.

5. Your data is on your device

Both apps store your data locally (see the Mileage Tracker privacy policy and the Compass GD privacy policy). We do not hold a copy, so we cannot recover it if you lose your device, uninstall the app, or clear its data without a backup you made yourself.

6. Subscriptions, purchases and refunds

GreenDriver Mileage Tracker offers a 10-day free trial, after which continued use of paid features requires a subscription: Basic at $3.99 per month, or Full at $4.99 per month pre-paid annually. Compass GD is a single $0.99 purchase.

  • All billing is handled by Google Play. We never see or store your card number or billing address.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time in the Play Store under Subscriptions; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the paid term ends.
  • Refunds are governed by Google Play's refund policy. We will support any reasonable refund request, but the transaction and the refund are Google's to process.
  • Prices may change. An existing subscription keeps its price for the term already paid, and Google notifies you before any renewal at a new price.
  • Data you have already recorded stays on your phone if a subscription lapses, and export remains available so you can take your records with you.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use the apps unlawfully, attempt to misrepresent records produced by them, or resell or redistribute them as your own. Do not operate your phone while driving — both apps are designed to be set before you move and read when stopped.

8. No warranty

THE APPS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GREENDRIVER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST RECORDS OR TAX PENALTIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APPS. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Changes

We may update the apps and these terms over time. The date at the top of this page changes when the terms do, and continued use after an update means you accept the current terms.

11. Ending it

You may stop using either app at any time by uninstalling it, and cancel a subscription at any time through the Play Store. We may suspend access in the event of unlawful use or payment fraud.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
